Nice sharing! Good to see the arguments correlating reading and empathy, though I do feel there are just some people which do not develop enough care towards reading in general, resulting in reading as means of building empathy ineffective to some extent 😦
I would say no, reading can make you a bit of an insensitive zombie if, like me, it’s something you do every day. I love reading, but there are people in my life who need my attention too, but sometimes I’m too far off in another world to give it.
I feel like this explains why so many readers tend to seem more mature — they’re also able to process emotions better. Thanks for sharing!
