Alright world I need some help! I’m considering switching to my own domain name (still hosted by WordPress, of course) but I am having trouble deciding on a name. Readvoraciously.com is taken 😣 so below are the few I have come up with. Vote in the comments or submit your suggestion!
- Devouringwords.com (from my sites tagline)
- Readingvoraciously.com (play on my site title and my name on every other social media site!)
- Voraciousreading.com
- Something else…

I do like the one you already have, but I understand the desire to put “reading” or “books” in the name. The one that popped out the most to be was Readingvoraciously.com . Domain Names are HARD! I got lucky that mine wasn’t taken, since my mom thought it up and I loved it instantly 🙂 But yes, Readingvoraciously.com is my favourite 🙂

Does that cost money? I really want to switch to “bookmarkyourthoughts.com” sooner rather than later but wasn’t sure if it costs anything.

It does, $2.99 per month. I figure if I don’t by one coffee or something a month I’ve saved enough to pay for my domain 😂

It definitely helps make the blog look more professional, I think so that is my draw for it. I’m hoping it will influence people outside of WordPress to subscribe

If mine hits off well, I may go up to the premium. But I want to wait at least a year I think.

Yeah, those were my thoughts as well. I’ve done will this first year and I have had success with publisher’s so I think the time is right to take the next step

Nooooo! Yeah I thought about that too but read a few articles that said ending in anything but .com can be confusing going forward

Yeah…but I like keeping mine as it is ha-ha! I already have so many things attached as Bookmark Your Thoughts so I want to keep it.

I’ve read it up for a while now, and I think that’s what I like the most. It’s growing in popularity and there aren’t too many cons other than that .com is still the top, for the moment. And this is a blog ha-ha! Go with your gut 🙂

Do it! I’m now torn between readingvoraciously.com and just waiting until October to see if the person who owns readvoraciously.com forgets to renew it and I can take it then 😀

I think that ReadingVoraciously.com is a great idea, but If it’s taken then I think you might be better of with something that stands out so that you can get a larger audience. Good luck! 🙂

yes, readingvoraciously.com would be the closest thing to what I already have on my other social media sites. After conversing with another blogger readvoraciously.blog is also a viable option, I just struggle with the non-.com ending!

Domain names are very important they are like your identity so I would go with readingvoraciously.com becuase it connects your site and social mediaring together!

Thanks you! That is definitely where I’m leaning. I also discovered that the domain name readvoraciously.com expires in October so I’m hoping the owner won’t renew it and I can swoop in and take it. I think I’m just going to sit tight until then. I’ve already set a reminder on my calendar 😄
